Our Fall 2024 workshops and trainings empower all coaches, athletic directors, and sports chaplains of any race and/or spiritual identity with practical tools for building stronger, more inclusive teams. These sessions which range from 1 hour to 3 hours cover key topics like conflict resolution, racial awareness, and promoting equity for all athletes, including those from underrepresented groups. This workshop introduces coaches and athletic directors to conflict transformation techniques by way of the ancient practice of peace circles. Participants will learn how to implement peace circles as a tool for addressing and resolving team conflicts, fostering open dialogue, and building stronger, more cohesive teams. The session will cover the principles and practices of peace circles, including how to create a safe space for all voices, mediate disputes constructively, and promote a culture of mutual respect and understanding. By integrating these techniques into their coaching and leadership strategies, attendees will be better equipped to manage conflicts, enhance team dynamics, and cultivate a supportive and collaborative environment.

This workshop aims to foster an inclusive coaching environment by addressing the unique challenges faced by athletes who identify as LGBTQIA or may have a physical or intellectual disability. With a focus on understanding and supporting these athletes, the session will emphasize the specific experiences of Black athletes within these groups. Coaches will learn about best practices for creating a respectful and equitable environment, recognizing the intersecting identities of their athletes, and advocating for fair treatment. Participants will be equipped with strategies to support all athletes or staff members.
